A homemade Canadian Bannock bread made in the frying pan is easy and quick to prepare. Only requires a few ingredients. This is a modern version of the old bread brought to Canada with the Scottish settlements. Often served warm or at room temperature, and served as a side to a meal, at breakfast or as an afternoon snack.

In a bowl mix the flour, baking powder and salt.

Add the oil and the water bit by bit.

When the dough is still sticky, move it to a surface covered in flour and continue to knead it for a few minutes.

Divide the dough in 5 and flatten them a bit with the hands.

Heat up the frying oil in a frying pan to 175 degrees Celsius. Fry the bread on each side until golden brown.
