The only thing this homemade macaroni gratin has in common with mac and cheese is, that they both are quick and easy to prepare. In our home this dish is a popular weekday dinner as it's perfect to make with leftover cooked pasta, which we often have. This time we happened to have sausages as well, but you can prepare it with ham, bacon, or just with pasta depending on what you like.
Ingredient List for 6 servings:

Grated cheese

Oven temperature:
200 degrees Celsius
Instructions:
Preheat the oven at 200 degrees Celsius.
Boil the macaroni according to the Instructions on the box.
Fry the sausages in a frying pan.
Peel and cut the onion in small pieces.
In a bowl mix the eggs, milk, pepper and salt.
Add in the macaroni and mix well.
Spread evenly the grated cheese on top.
Place in the middle of the oven for 30 minutes.
Take out the macaroni gratin from the oven and let it cool down for 10 minutes before serving it.
